2011 PORSCHE Panamera S Hybrid

I could skip the second model from Porsche history with a hybrid powertrain. It is Porsche Panamera S Hybrid, a version that receives the same drive train that I saw at Cayenne and also on Touareg Hybrid (380 HP and 428 lb-ft), this allowing to the German model to reach a good consumption for a model in this range. We’re talking about 34.5 mi/gal, a consumption that reaches half by the announced gasoline version of Porsche Panamera S version.

Edo Competition Porsche Panamera 2011

The German tuning firm Edo Competition has released their latest work on the Porsche Panamera with the odd name Moby Dick. Can’t say the Panamera has been the most appealing car tuners have had runs with it, however this one looks stunning. It is said to be the most powerful Porsche Panamera in the world currently, with the upgrade boosting the numbers by almost 50% from the factory 500 PS to a whopping 750 PS. With the aftermarket upgrade, the Porsche Panamera Moby Dick was able to spring from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds, while reaching a top speed of 211 mph. Next was the aggressive styling that catches everyone’s attention.
Definitely turning a lot of heads on the street is the aero kit from EdoCompetition for the Porsche Panamera. They also installed a new set of 22-inch wheels, a lowering module to drop the car, and a new exhaust to improve sound and performance. 13-year-old WCF member and Porschephile, porschecarreragtmay6, has created some renderings of a Porsche 918 RSR race car. Based on the 918 Spyder concept, the pictures show a hardcore coupe, wearing some classic Porsche liveries, designed to compete in the GT1 class.

Although these renderings were created back in March, shortly after the 918 Spyder's surprise unveiling in Geneva, they provide a potential glimpse of a race spec 918 in the wake of recent reports that Porsche will field the 918 Spyder at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring in 2011.

The 2013 Porsche 918 RSR Race Car comes with 2 electric motors and a 500hp V8 from the “RS Spyder” LMP-2 car. The 918 RSR Race Car will drop the electric motors, but will retain the KERs and 500 hp V8. Since GT1 regulated no more than 600 hp, Porsche may remove air-restrictors from the engine to boost the output to 600hp.

As a refresher, the 918 Spyder concept featured a 368 kW (500 PS / 493 hp) V8 engine and three electric motors with a total of 160 kW (218 PS / 215 hp). Packing a combined 528 kW (718 PS / 708 hp), the Spyder sent power through a PDK dual-clutch gearbox (with an electric boost function) to an electric all-wheel drive system.The 918 RSR model will race the same competitions as the classical 917

Packing a combined 528 kW (718 PS / 708 hp), the Spyder sent power through a PDK dual-clutch gearbox (with an electric boost function) to an electric all-wheel drive system.
The 918 RSR model will race the same competitions as the classical 917 race car. It will drop the electric motors, but will retain the KERS and the 500hp V8. Here's one of the first reviews of the new Cayman.
First Opinion
Despite subtle styling differences, the new Cayman is every bit as desirable as the highly muscular S. It’s just as good to drive, loses little visual impact and is sure to hold on to its value. The small performance sacrifice isn’t something every driver will want to make, but for Porsche fans who are on a budget, the Cayman’s lower price will more than make up for it. 

Timing is everything when it comes to successful car launches – so why has Porsche chosen to unleash its entry-level Cayman now? After all, the company says sales of the flagship Cayman S are double what was expected. Also, the model cleaned up at this year’s Auto Express New Car Honours awards, easily winning the title of the UK’s best sporting car.

However, Porsche claims that the base Cayman will only serve to extend the appeal of the machine. Described by the manufacturer as cheaper but no less thrilling, the newcomer aims to bring the car to a wider audience.

Boasting a 2.7-litre engine, it may be the entry-level model but, on the road, it has lost none of its bigger brother’s bite. And at £36,220, it is a whopping £7,755 cheaper, too – which puts it firmly in the territory of the Mercedes SLK and BMW Z4 Coupé.

Porsche Cayenne: New Model Breaks Cover!

Here are spy images of the facelifted Cayenne. Don't be fooled by all the taping on the back, if you look closely, you can see the adjusted tailights.
Our spies caught the sporty off-roader being put through its paces in Germany with a minimal disguise. And while changes to the metalwork have been kept to a minimum, buyers will still get distinctive styling when the big off-roader goes on sale. 

The most signifcant alterations are to the nose, where new headlights and a more aggressive front bumper, com­plete with wide-set foglamps, appear.

Another less obvious change with the nose is the increased overhang ahead of the front wheels, giving greater protection to pedestrians in the event of an accident.

Meanwhile, at the back, there's a fresh bumper, the lights are resculpted to give a sharper look, and a neat roof spoiler also makes an appearance.

Improved interior trim and subtle tweaks to the suspension to boost handling are also expec­ted. The high-performance SUV is set to hit showrooms later this year.

New Porsche Sports Cars 911 GT3 R

Porsche has unveiled the new Porsche 911 GT3 R. The 911 GT3 R will be raced in series based on the international FIA GT3 regulations, thus succeeding the 911 GT3 Cup S. The 911 GT3 R is powered by a four-litre six-cylinder boxer engine delivering maximum output of 480 bhp (353 kW) transmitted to the rear axle by a sequential six-speed dog gearbox.

The GT3 R offers 30 bhp more than the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup model. Both cars are based on the extra-wide body of the 911 GT3 RS street-legal sports car.
Porsche AG continues to work deep into the 2010 competition season. The new Porsche 911 GT3 R replaces the 911 GT3 Cup S in the range of competing models of the brand. The 911 GT3 R participate in the tests based on international regulations FIA GT3. A sequential gearbox six-speed is responsible for transmitting that power to the rear axle.
It is based on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, presented in September 2009, and intended to compete in single-brand glass. With the increase in displacement at 0.2 liters, the GT3 R achieves 30 hp increase in power compared to GT3 Cup racing Both vehicles take the widened bodywork of the 911 GT3 RS series.
The antilock brake system (ABS), traction control and electronic throttle prepared to adapt the engine speed in each gear change, making it much easier driving in relation to its predecessor, so this new model will also most appropriate for amateur drivers.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R weighs 1,200 kg, comes with an anti-lock brake system (ABS), traction control and an e-gas with “throttle-blip” function make it much easier to get used to this new GT3 racing carthan its predecessor, meaning that the new model is also more appropriate for the ambitious amateur racing driver.
The flared wheel arches, both in the front and the rear channels show a higher compared with the previous model. The underside of the vehicle are fully lined and features a rear diffuser. The possibilities of regulating the rear wing have also been increased. The race suspension has several settings.
Front, McPherson has a structure adjustable in height, with SACHS shock variables and two-way dual dock. Behind, the GT3 R has a highly rigid sub-frame, with a multilink axle adjustable height and the Sachs shock absorber adjustable two-way dual dock.
The Porsche 911 GT3 R is making its world debut on 14 January 2010 at the Birmingham Motor Show and the price is 279,000 Euros.
